WHAT WE INSPECT
Roof Surveys
Full aerial inspection of flat and pitched roofs. Identifies damage, ponding, failed flashings, and vegetation ingress with annotated imagery.
Structural Inspections
Detailed close-range inspection of facades, chimneys, parapets, and structural elements. Replaces costly scaffold or rope access.
Solar Panel Inspections
Visual and thermal inspection of PV arrays. Identifies underperforming panels, hotspots, and soiling without system downtime.
Industrial Asset Surveys
Inspection of tanks, silos, cooling towers, and process plant. Safe, rapid, and non-intrusive with full photographic record.
Bridge & Infrastructure
Underside and elevation inspection of bridges, viaducts, and retaining walls. Detailed condition reports with GPS-tagged imagery.
Construction Progress
Regular aerial progress monitoring with time-stamped imagery. Ideal for client reporting, programme management, and dispute resolution.

How it works
What does a drone site inspection involve?
A drone site inspection replaces the need for scaffold, rope access, or elevated work platforms in the majority of visual inspection scenarios. Where a traditional roof or facade inspection might require a day of scaffold erection, a drone inspection of the same structure can be completed in two to four hours — including mobilisation, flight, and a preliminary review of the imagery on site. The full annotated report is typically delivered within 48 hours.
The inspection process begins with a pre-flight risk assessment and site briefing. Our pilot identifies any airspace restrictions, overhead cables, or structural features that require special attention, and agrees the inspection scope with the client or site manager. For occupied buildings, we coordinate with the building manager to ensure the inspection does not disrupt occupants or operations.
During the inspection, the drone captures high-resolution imagery at close range — typically 3 to 10 metres from the surface — using a camera capable of resolving features as small as 2 to 5 millimetres per pixel. For thermal inspections, a separate thermal imaging payload is used alongside the visual camera, allowing the pilot to identify heat loss, moisture ingress, and electrical hotspots that are invisible to a standard camera.
Every image is GPS-tagged and timestamped, creating a verifiable record of the structure's condition at the time of inspection. This is particularly valuable for insurance purposes, pre-purchase surveys, and any situation where the condition record may be referenced in a legal or contractual context.
What the inspection report includes
Our standard inspection report is structured around the findings rather than the methodology. Each finding is described in plain language, assigned a condition grade on a 1–5 scale (from no action required to immediate intervention needed), and illustrated with annotated imagery showing the exact location and nature of the defect. Recommended remedial actions are included for each finding, giving the client or their contractor a clear brief for any follow-up work.
For complex structures or large portfolios, we can provide findings in a structured data format (CSV or JSON) for integration with asset management systems, as well as the standard PDF report. We can also provide raw imagery in full resolution for clients who wish to carry out their own analysis or retain the imagery as part of their asset records.
Replacing scaffold and rope access
The cost comparison between drone inspection and traditional access methods is significant. A scaffold erection for a standard commercial roof inspection typically costs £2,000 to £8,000 and takes one to two days to install and dismantle. A drone inspection of the same roof costs a fraction of that and is completed in a single visit. For routine inspection programmes — annual condition surveys, pre-lease inspections, or post-storm damage assessments — the cumulative saving over a portfolio of properties is substantial.
Beyond cost, drone inspection eliminates the safety risks associated with working at height. Falls from height remain one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities in the construction and facilities management sectors. Removing the need for operatives to access roofs, facades, and elevated structures directly reduces that risk to zero for the inspection phase of any project.
