Do I need to be CAA approved to join?
Yes. All members must hold a valid CAA Operational Authorisation or GVC qualification. We verify credentials before activating your membership.
Will clients be able to see who our members are?
No. Member identities are kept private within the network. Clients submit job requirements through us and we match them to the right pilots — your details are never publicly listed.
How do job alerts work?
When a new survey job comes in, Elite members are notified first, then Professional members, then Basic. This tiered system ensures higher-tier members always have first access to quote.
What is geographic exclusivity on Elite?
Elite members can opt into guaranteed exclusivity for their area. This means no other Elite pilot can be active in the same zone, giving you a monopoly on top-tier jobs in your region.
What happens when my county is full?
Once the slot limit is reached for your county and tier, that area closes to new members. You can join a waitlist and will be notified immediately when a slot becomes available.
Can I upgrade my plan?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time. Changes take effect immediately and your geo-locked slot is preserved. Upgrading unlocks priority job access and additional features instantly.
Is the annual plan worth it?
Annual plans save you 17% — equivalent to 2 months free. Your geo-locked slot is also guaranteed for the full year with no risk of losing it mid-term.
How membership works
What you get as a Drone Survey Network member
Drone Survey Network membership gives certified drone pilots access to a steady flow of commercial survey enquiries from construction companies, property developers, infrastructure operators, and facilities managers across the UK and USA. When a client submits a survey enquiry through our platform, we match it to pilots in the relevant geography and tier — so the leads you receive are for work in your area, at a scale your equipment and certifications can handle.
The geo-locking system is the core of the membership model. When you join, you select the counties (UK) or states (USA) you want to cover. Those territories are locked to your membership for as long as you remain active — no other pilot at your tier can be added to the same area once it is full. This means your competition within the network is capped, and the leads you receive are not being shared with ten other pilots in your postcode.
Who is membership for?
Membership is designed for commercially active drone pilots who hold a valid CAA GVC (UK) or FAA Part 107 (USA) certification and carry appropriate public liability insurance. We verify all certifications before activating a membership. You do not need to be a full-time drone pilot — many of our members operate alongside other work — but you do need to be able to respond to enquiries within 24 hours and attend site within a reasonable timeframe.
The three membership tiers — Standard, Professional, and Elite — differ in the number of geo-locked territories, the priority of lead delivery, and access to premium enquiries (larger sites, higher-value contracts). Most pilots start on Standard and upgrade once they have established a track record on the platform. Annual plans save 17% compared to monthly billing and lock your territory rate for 12 months.
