SURVEY CAPABILITIES
From residential roof inspections to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Our network of FAA Part 107 and CAA-certified drone survey pilots delivers professional aerial data across the USA and UK. Every project is handled by a verified, insured specialist — not a generalist operator. From topographic mapping to structural inspection, we match you with the right pilot for your site.
Orthomosaic
A geometrically corrected aerial image stitched from hundreds of drone photos, accurate to <2cm. Used for land measurement, planning, and GIS.
LiDAR Point Cloud
A 3D dataset of millions of laser-measured points capturing terrain, structures, and vegetation. Delivers sub-centimetre elevation accuracy.
DTM / DSM
Digital Terrain Model (bare earth) and Digital Surface Model (including structures). Both derived from drone data for engineering and planning.
Photogrammetry
The science of extracting 3D measurements from overlapping 2D drone images. Produces orthomosaics, point clouds, and 3D models.
Aerial Mapping
High-resolution orthomosaics, DTMs, and DSMs for land, construction, and infrastructure projects. Centimetre-level accuracy with full GCP control.

Common questions
Drone survey questions answered
Everything you need to know before commissioning a drone survey — costs, accuracy, turnaround, and regulations.
How much does a drone survey cost?
Drone survey costs start from $259 / £199 for a standard roof inspection or small-site aerial survey. Topographic surveys, LiDAR mapping, and construction monitoring are priced by scope and site size. Request a free quote for your specific project.
How accurate is a drone survey?
With ground control points (GCPs), drone surveys achieve horizontal accuracy of 1–3 cm and vertical accuracy of 2–5 cm. Without GCPs, accuracy is typically 5–10 cm. LiDAR drone surveys achieve point cloud densities of 50–200 points per square metre.
How long does a drone survey take?
Most site surveys are completed in a single day. A standard roof inspection takes 1–2 hours on site. Construction site mapping and topographic surveys typically take 2–4 hours depending on site size. Reports are delivered within 48 hours of the survey.
Do drone pilots need special authorisation?
Yes. In the USA, commercial drone pilots must hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. In the UK, pilots must hold a CAA GVC (General Visual Line of Sight Certificate) or legacy PfCO. All pilots in the Drone Survey Network are verified against these requirements.
What is included in a drone survey report?
A standard drone survey report includes: georeferenced orthomosaic imagery, annotated condition photographs, GPS-tagged defect mapping, a written condition assessment with severity grading (1–5), and recommendations for remediation or further investigation. Reports are delivered as PDF and include raw data files on request.
Can drone surveys be used for insurance claims?
Yes. Drone survey reports with GPS-tagged imagery and condition grading are accepted by major UK and US insurers for claim assessment, pre-purchase surveys, and post-storm damage documentation. Our reports are formatted to meet standard insurance requirements.
How do I book a drone survey?
Submit a quote request through the site with your location, survey type, and timeline. We match your project to a verified, insured pilot in your area and confirm availability within 24 hours. Most surveys can be scheduled within 2–5 business days.
What areas do you cover?
The Drone Survey Network covers the full USA and UK. We have active pilots in all 50 US states and across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. For remote locations, we can typically source a qualified pilot within 5 business days.
